1. Nightshade series by Andrea Cremer--Guys, I freaking loathed Wolfsbane, and I haven't felt the urge to hate myself so much to read Bloodrose. I have it, though! Along with Rift. But man, do I not want to finish this series at ALL.
2. Matched series by Ally Condie--I heard Crossed was horrible. And while I enjoyed Matched, I didn't love it so much that I rushed out to get Crossed. Yet thanks to Brooke I own Crossed and think it'll go onto the winter reading pile.
3. Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke--Guys, I really adore this series. But when I discovered it, only the first two books had been published and I hadn't even realized there was a third book until about two years ago. And I've yet to actually pick up Inkdeath.
4. Book of Faerie series by Maggie Stiefvater--I read Lament and really enjoyed it, but actually getting the sequel and reading it? I haven't done that yet. I've heard the final book in the trilogy is scheduled for 2014, so maybe I'll read Ballad before then . . .
5. Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins--Another series I love, but I haven't picked up Spell Bound yet . . . and I'm not sure why! Especially after Demonglass's cliffhanger ending. :P
6. The Forest of Hands and Teeth series by Carrie Ryan--the first book was okay, but I'm in no hurry to get around to the rest of the series. Although I AM rather curious about the rest, I don't think I'll pick them up.
7. Possession series by Elana Johnson--the first book confused the crap out of me, but I gave it three stars. Then I read the sequel/follow-up novel and absolutely despised it. I will NOT be reading the third and final book. Or even the short stories for that matter.
8. Legacy by Cayla Kluver--after I read the first book, I was really really confused about what I just read. I attempted to read the sequel and didn't get really far into it.
9. Spellbound by Cara Lynn Schultz--this one the main characters annoyed me so much that I avoided the sequel at all costs. I may be a sadist, but I am not THAT big of a sadist to read the sequel. No thank you.
10. The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze--we all know how I feel about this one, and while it's ongoing, I won't be reading the sequel at all.
And those are the series I haven't finished yet. What are yours? (Leave links, please!)

Inkheart is on my list as well. I really loved the first book, but the last book left me a wee bit disappointed.

aw, really? Sad. :(
DeleteI need to finish Hex Hall, too. Most of the other series on this list are ones I've been meaning to start, but haven't gotten around to yet.
ReplyDeleteReading older books is really, really hard. Like I want to read ALL THE NEW BOOKS but there's all those fantastic old books and ugh there needs to be three of me.
DeleteI don't think i've read any of the books on this list yet except Inkheart which I really liked.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my list here
Inkheart is amazing.
DeleteInkheart is one I need to finish as well. My top ten post:

I haven't finished the Matched or Nightshade series yet either! I think it's always harder to work up the enthusiasm for the ones you feel just middling about, even if you do want to find out how it ends.

It seriously is, and I've read spoilers for Bloodrose, so I'm just not . . . wanting to read it at all.
DeleteI really enjoyed MATCHED, CROSSED, though? EH. That was a huge disappointment. But you should read the rest of THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH trilogy. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY loved that series. So so much.
ReplyDeletelol I might. I'm really curious about the other two.
DeleteThe Forest of Hands and Teeth is on my list, too. I didn't like the first book, though. One tiny little thing might redeem it - I loved the short story set in that world from the Zombies vs. Unicorns anthology!
ReplyDeleteGreat list - thanks for sharing!
I started the Beautiful Creatures series but didn't make it past the first book. I liked Beautiful Creatures, but I wasn't clawing for the next one. Now there are four books total. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteOmg, those books are horrendous. Okay the first one was. Now it's being made into a movie and I'm all . . . whatever. I LOVE that it's being made into a movie, because YAY YA books, but ugh. I don't want to watch it at all.
DeleteI liked Forest of Hands and Teeth a lot. But I have a limited tolerance for zombie stuff. I may finish it one day...
ReplyDeleteOh, man, why would someone publish Bloodrose spoilers? That's just wrong. I thought the ending was well done. I know it ticked off some people, but I thought it worked.
Nightshade didn't win me over so I haven't been especially eager to get Wolfsbane...and so few people have raved about it and the final book that I don't think I'm missing out. Matched I happen to like but the rest is about the same. No idea when I'll get to them if I do.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to hear that you probably won't pick up the other books from Ryan. I think her books are brilliant and the last one was SO FREAKING good.
ReplyDeleteAnd go read the other book from Hex Hall! It was awesome :D
My TTT.
I might! Especially since everybody keeps raving about them. ;)
DeleteWow, I haven't read/started any of these series, lol! I do have the first two to the Nightshade series, but have heard so many mixed things about it that I haven't bothered to pick them up yet. Oh, and I do have the first two to the Hex Hall series too! Haven't had the time, but I'm thinking I should get to this series soon - too good to pass up!
ReplyDeleteYou and I have similar tastes, so I think I'll be staying away from the rest of them :) Thanks for your honesty!!!
