I just ADORED Revived by Cat Patrick! There was something very, very striking and addicting about this one. Daisy’s voice was spot-on and I loved it. Loved loved LOVED this one! Definitely pick it up if you haven’t already!

REVIEW:

I read Revived by Cat Patrick in a day because it’s such a book for me. I mean, hello, government-secret drug that can bring people BACK TO LIFE and a girl not even sixteen has died four times already. DID YOU READ MY MIND, CAT PATRICK?! All you have to do is read the first chapter and be hooked.

Daisy Appleby is a tough girl, and such an amazing protag for Revived. I loved her voice and her character and her PERSONALITY and of course, the sweet, soft romance. It’s a nice touch to this one. I also heart the friendship Daisy strikes with Audrey; I want to be Daisy and Audrey’s friend, TOO. And we could talk boys and celebrities and have sleepovers and it’ll be so much fun.

Most YA books don't feature a good relationship between the child and their parents, but Revived sorta does. And by "sorta" I mean, Daisy and her fake dad, Mason, have a great relationship. It made me smile so much and Mason quickly grew to be one of my favorite characters, along with Daisy and Audrey and Matt. And Megan. Oh, how much did I love Megan? LOVE LOVE LOVE her! I also really liked that Megan is a transgender. It's such a subtle touch, but a great addition to the books of LGBT books. Megan was an amazing character. Also, her and Daisy run a blog together and I kinda wish that blog was real because I would read it every day they posted. 

I also loved that the head of the Revive program is nicknamed “God.” It made me laugh out loud and I had to tell the people in the room, and then had to explain to my mother why it was funny and yeah, it lost its funniness after that. But I still laughed whenever they talked about God. AND DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO MY MOTHER. 

The ending—holy crap, I didn’t see that coming at ALL. I loved the twists and turns; I mean, it seemed so obvious when the revelation came like halfway through but BOOM, Cat Patrick has a twist coming and is laughing at us readers right now, I bet. Because if I was her, I would be laughing like mad. I SOOO didn’t see the twists! AT ALL. Amazing book. Amazing ending.

I loved the mix of science fiction and contemporary. It made for Revived a fast read and appeal to those who don’t really like sci-fi. It’s heavy on the contemporary, soft on the science. If you’re looking for a book that deals with death and life and government secrets, Revived by Cat Patrick is the book for you. Really, it is. I dare you to get a copy of it.
